Osinbajo to inaugurate Flour Mill, Power Sub-station, others in Akwa Ibom Sept. 23

Mr Essien Ndueso, Special Adviser to the Governor on Documentation, said this in a statement made available to newsmen on Saturday in Uyo. 

The projects, according to him, are located at Onna and Mkpat Enin Local Government Areas of the state. “Akwa Ibom has taken off with the stunning proficiency of a visionary in the cockpit. “A fresh beginning in the baker’s confectionery revolution beckons in Akwa Ibom with the King’s Flour Mill which has commenced test production with a capacity of 500 tons of wheat and 400 tons of flour daily,” he said.

Ndueso added that a plywood industry, an initiative geared toward making the state a major producer of finished products for the building sector, would also be inaugurated. “Gov. Emmanuel’s vision of steady power supply has been boosted with the completion of the first phase of the 2×60 KVA transmission sub-station in Ekim, Mkpat Enin Local Government Area,” he said.

The governor’s aide said that the power station, which was executed in collaboration with Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), had a 60 MVA power transformer and three 33 KV feeder bays. Boko Haram: Borno Gov, Zulum faults new military strategy(Opens in a new browser tab) “It is expected to supply 48mw of power to, at least, to Ikot Abasi, Mkpat Enin, Oruk Anam, Onna and Eastern Obolo Local Government areas,” he said. Ndueso said that the governor had announced that his ‘completion agenda’ would come with renewed focus on industrialisation and other new key areas of investments.

“The governor has literally given Akwa Ibom the wings to fly to the firmament of greatness in all sectors of the economy,” he said. Ndueso said that the governor had recently approved the recruitment of 100 doctors and other health workers to boost the workforce in the state’s healthcare sector.

“There is a strategic partnership between the Akwa Ibom government and security agencies, which is aimed at sustaining the state as a safe haven for residents, investors and tourists,” he said. He also said that the Gov. Emmanuel-led administration had not derailed from the policy of creatively diversifying the economy through agriculture. This, he said, had led to the acquisition of 100 hectares of land from each of the 31 local government areas of the state for agricultural development.

ONNA: GOV'S AIDE MOBILIZES WOMEN FOR UDOM'S RE-ELECTION

Still in the spirit of festivity, an aide to the Governor on Projects, Mrs. Uduak Markey, has mobilised women across the three villages of Oniong West Ward 2 in ONNA LGA for Gov. Udom Emmanuel's re-election for a second term in office.

The get together held in Ukpana village over the weekend  was organized to unify the women and further woo more supporters in the community ahead of the Feb. 16th and March 2nd general election respectively.

She appreciated all the women for coming out enmass despite their very tight schedules to celebrate the new year with her,  and also for giving support to Governor Udom Emmanul throughout his first term in office.

Mrs. Markey stated  that she came to solicit  their support for the Governor and all the candidates of the PDP in the forthcoming election.

She said that  the three villages comprising Ukpana, Ikot Abasi, Akpabom, has been a strong hold of the PDP and as such, everyone should be ready to return PDP 100/100.

The aide to the Governor promised the women that when the Governor is reelected, the yearnings of the people will be addressed as the Governor will give his utmost priority to mitigating their challenges.

Collaborating the stance of the aide to the Governor, the Ukpana village mobilizer, Mrs. Christiana Ikpe said there is nothing benefiting as having a Governor from home.

She stated that since the emergence of the Governor, there are seeable developments that has benefited the people immensely.

She urged the women to keep their PVC's intact and be prepared to use it to return the Governor for a second term for more dividends of governance.

The former Councilor of the ward, Hon. Kingsley Johnny, in his remark said that Governor Emmanuel has performed so well and deserves to be voted back into office.

He stressed that the only way that can be achieved is by collecting the PVC's and ensuring it is used on the election day.

In her closing remark the vice chairman, Obongawan Comfort Umoette encouraged the women not to be intimidated.

She urged the women to be armed  with their PVC's and go out to vote massively for the the governor and all candidates of the PDP on the election day.

The Senior special Assistant to the governor on Medicals, Dr Ignatius Akpabio has led the mobilization drive for the ongoing voters’ registration conducted by INEC to his home town in Onna, Oniong West ward One, and drummed support for the PDP and governor Udom Emmanuel.

Dr Akpabio called on all elders, men, women and youth groups in the area to take advantage of the opportunity provided by the voters’ registration to increase their chances of electing credible leaders who will represent their best interest come 2019.

In his speech, Dr. Akpabio, called on all the elders, women and youths to get their PVC ready to re-elect His Excellency, Governor Udom Emmanuel in 2019, he highlighted the achievement of the present administration to include, the Syringe factory, the metering factory, coconut refinery and others. The SSA on medicals thanked the people for coming out in their numbers to get registered.

Dr Akpabio who had single handedly facilitated the rehabilitation of the cottage hospital in Ikot Iko Ibon in Onna local government area, which today is providing for the primary health care needs of the people in that environs noted that; Deac Udom Emmanuel means well for the people of the area and will continue to bring more dividends of democracy till 2023.

It was also a time for empowerment as the SSA announced sponsorship of medical treatment for one of the constituents of the area, Mr Samuel Ekaette Jnr. from Ikot Edor; with full surgery. A case which could not be handled at the cottage hospital will be transferred to the University of Uyo Teaching Hospital.

As far as testimonials within the community go, Dr Akpabio has before now been in the business of providing medical assistances to so many people of his constituency and many other Akwa Ibom sons and daughters.

Similiarly, he employed Teachers for Oniong West secondary School, Ikot Edor; who before now was faced with the challenge of understaffing, as students’ population overwhelmed teachers.
It is on record that till today, those teachers are being paid from a personal fund made available by Dr. Akpabio.

It will be recalled that Oniong West ward one recorded the second highest votes during the last gubernatorial election in ONNA that produced His Excellency, Governor Udom Emmanuel as Governor in 2015.

Lady Rose Ekanem Nkanta hails from Ikot Obong Ishiet, Asuna Nung Oku Clan, ONNA LGA and was born on the 10th day of February 1969 by 9:10 pm to be precise.

Fortunately she shares same birthday date with her Excellency Deaconess Martha Udom Emmanuel.

She holds a Diploma in Law from the prestigious University of Uyo.

Lady Rose Nkanta is quite active political.   In 1999 she emerged the chapter woman leader of PDP in Onna. Contested as a Councillor in 2007 and lost.

Her political connect and goodwill brought smiles her way in 2017 as she emerged the councillorship candidate against all odds.

Her best meal is Ekpang Nkukwo & Plantain. She loves Irish Wine & Campari. Her hobby include listening to Godly Religious Music & mobilizing.

She is a single mother with a loving daughter.
