USORO AKPANUSOH EMERGE TRANS-AFRICA'S DISTINGUISHED PERSONALITY OF THE YEAR 2018


In a way of encouraging support for the development of greater africa through qualitative education. Young Africans under the auspices of Trans-Africa Students  Initiatives (TRASI-AFRICA), yesterday confered on Dr. Usoro Akpanusoh "Africa's Distinguished Personality Of The Year" ward.

Performing the presentation, the leader of the delegation Hon. Austine Forku Kosi of the University de Cocodi, Ivory Coast, said the nomination and subsequent adoption/conferment on Dr. Akpanusoh the award of Distinguished Personality of the year is base on factual recognition and appreciation of the lawmaker's  immense contributions towards academic excellence, passionate and philanthropy aura for capacity development towards nation building, legislative dexterity, social transformation and selfless effort in alleviating the burdens always associated with students studying in tertiary institutions of learning. 

Kosi who is the deputy head of operations Trasi-africa Ivory Coast, described Akpanusoh as the vanguard of Africans development. 

He said Akpanusoh is vested with diverse developmental initiatives that could translate to multiple benefits for Africans and for the development of Africa.

Kosi requested on behalf of Pan-Africa students  full participation in the forthcoming all Africa Students Union Annual / Youth Summit slated for Kikali, Rwanda from July 24th -28th, 2018. 

He further appealed for adequate support and formidable synergy from government and agencies to partner for the actualization of the Union's designed plans in their efforts to help correct the ills of the students and the society by developing the students to achieve africa's paradigm shift through participation in global academic activities to help reshape mindset and capacity of it's members.

In appreciation of the well deserved honour, Dr. Akpanusoh who is the chairman, house committee on appropriations and finance thanked the Pan-African students onbehalf of his family and entire constituents for the opportunity and grace God has given him to contribute in moulding future leaders through promotion of academic excellence and students welfare packages.

Akpanusoh while admonishing the union leadership to hold firm on efficient and effective representation assured of his undiluted committed to continue in supporting and advocating for standard academic system as exemplified by the administration of Mr. Udom Emmanuel; Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State 

He pointed that morality and self discipline should be embrace as one of the cardinal principles to aide the actualization of targeted  goals and objectives of Trasi-africa for the articulation of Pan-African  students.

He urged them not to indulge in any form of activities that is not in tanderm with the constitution in their academic pursuits emphasising that academic excellence cannot be guaranteed when the mind is not dedicated to it's core purpose. 

Usoro who had earlier pointed out the need for sustainable development, efficient and effective representation tasked the leadership of Pan-African Students Initiatives  to incorporate Akwa Ibom state indigene  that will represent the interest of the students in the programmes and activities of the body to allow fairness and equity to travail.

Another significant moment recorded during the award conferment by the delegation was  decoration of the lawmaker with metallic medal and customize attire confirming him as a five star general of Trasi-Africa. 

This role was  done by comrade Shantal Rosebell; director of international relations.


Trans-Africa Students Initiatives (TRASI AFRICA) is a Pan-African Students development driven initiative of young minds across the continent Passionate and committed to working for Africa's development.

It came into existence from the resolutions of the all Africa's Students Union 3rd Annual Youth / Students summit held in 2012.

Members of the delagtion are director of international relations, Shantal Rosebell; Espam Formation University, Republic of Benin, Mohammed Ibrahim; secretary General, Federal University of Technology, Minna, Meisabi Tasiu; director of logistics & mobilisation, Amah Esther; director of charity and gender, University of Calabar and Nnadozie Uchenna who serve as director of media and publicity.
