As part of effort to encourage sporting activities in Nigeria, Akwa Ibom State government have sponsored tickets for the match between Super Eagles and Atletico for all sports lovers in Akwa Ibom.
The decision of the state government according to the chairman, Football Association, Mr Emmanuel Ibah was to encourage the fans turn up enmasse to cheer up the Super Eagles to victory as well as promoting sports in Nigeria.
The chairman made this known during a press conference held yesterday at Le meridian Hotel, Uyo.
The match will take place at Godswill Akpabio international stadium on Tuesday, 22nd May, 2018 by 6pm with an open ceremony that will be powered by great entertainers from Nigeria.
Meanwhile, the chairman has directed all sports lovers to pick up their tickets at any strategic points such as Atlantic Fm, Inspiration Fm, Comfort Fm, among others, noted that only those with ticket will be given access to the stadium.
Mr. Ibah has advised all fans to be sitting before 4:30 pm as the stadium gates shall be closed early enough to help the organizers manage the crowd.
The chairman assured that lives and properties shall be saved during and after the match as modalities have been put in place by security agencies.
Also in attendance in the press conference were; super sport manager, Felix Awogu, the general manager of multichoice Nigeria, delegates from Laliga who are also the major sponsors of the match.
They used the medium to thank all their customers for their patronage, explained that sponsoring the match was a way of giving back to their customers.
