It is not in my character to sing the praises of a government, it's officials,or get too deep into the issues as regard the government, her policies and priorities, but am tempted to do it now, because of the unique, exemplary leadership the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Deacon Udom Emmanuel is bringing to the state.
During the electioneering campaign that brought him into office as the Governor, he made several promises to the people, which became part of his five points agenda of " Wealth creation,Job creation, Poverty Alleviation, Economic and political inclusion, Infrastructural Consolidation and Expansion, this he has been able to fulfilled, without any gainsaying.
As a clergy of one the biggest church in Nigeria, I have had several opportunities to speak to people within and outside this State concerning this government, but sometimes i get disappointed by some respond of some people about this government, i know this may be as a result of misinformation of the people, by those who do not wish this state well.
Sometimes i hear people go to the radio to say that workers are not been paid, but when they get paid, they don't go back to the people they gave the first information, that salaries have been paid.
The other day i was so disappointed to hear the publisher of Rader Newspaper Otuekong Franklyn Isong on the radio to talking about the non payment of workers, Paris refund money, Reigners Bible church report and all that, but were all those hatred he displayed for the government on the radio and on social media necessary?
Or is that what criticism means?
When will the likes of Otuekong Franklyn Isong , Torobong Ekpo, and other propagandist take a second look at the industrialization of this government, and give the people a Proper information, as the watch dogs of the society?
The Governor after taking oath of office in 29th May 2015, started a massive industrialization revolution in the state, massive road construction network, which include the construction of a 3.5km Ikot Udom Road with 15m span bridge in Ibiono Ibom with 7.3m carriageway width. Etc
When people go to the radio to attack the government, i think they should spare a minute to tell the people about the government efforts in constructing Uyo outfall drain from Nsikak Eduok - Oron Road to Tropicana complex. The construction of Ikot Usop - Ikot Edeghe- Ikot Ekpuk Road with 30m span bridge in mkpat- Enin, provision of revolving credit scheme by the state government to small scale industrialist, the investment of government in Agro- Allied industries, such as the coconut plantation and refinery, the Ibom metre Assembly plant, Revitalization of plasto crown Aka- Nung Udoe Road, the construction, completed and commissioned information drive and other life touching projects.
So it makes me sad when i see people attack the government of not doing anything since assumption, i weep for the type of politics played in this state. That is why i take it upon myself not just to support and pray for this government, but to educate the people about the activities of the government, some which are on the public domain, yet people don't want to take a second look at it and complement the effort of the government.
Akwa Ibom people Arise and take a second look at the government of Deacon Udom Emmanuel, because he means well for the people, leave the lies spread about this government by the opposition, because the Governor is a man of his word, and a God sent.
